Shocker! MC Oluomo sends another strong message to Obidients

CITIZENS COMPASS– THE Chairman, Lagos State Parks Management Committee, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has sent another strong message to supporters of Labour Party over the just conducted governorship and state assembly elections.

Recall that the elections took place on Saturday, March 18, 2023.

The latest message by MC Oluomo came barely 24 hours after he debunked a video message threatening non indigenes particularly Igbo extradition to stay at home if they were not voting for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

On Thursday,  March 16, 2023, the APC stalwart was captured in a video threatening Igbos to stay off various polling units except they want to vote for his party.

He was addressing his supporters at a meeting in Oshodi when he released the message which went viral and sparked criticisms among Nigerians.

Having realized the damage done, MC Oluomo quickly released another video on Friday, March 17, 2023 debunking his earlier message.

True to his words, the Saturday’s election was married with voter apathy and violence as hoodlums were visibly seen in some polling units believed to be the strong holds of Labour Party threatening voters.

Some people were violently chased away from the polling units while some were injured.

In some areas, suspected hoodlums were said to have hijacked ballot boxes not minding the presence of security operatives.

Some videos from polling centers monitored by Citizens Compass revealed how hoodlums attacked resident including journalists at different scenes.

To make the matter worse, sacrifices were placed at some polling centers believed to be the strongholds of opposition parties across the state.

A Nollywood actress, Chioma Akpotha was among the victims who were violently attacked by the hoodlums.

Places like Ago Palace, Ojota, Festac, Iba,. Ojo, Vectoria Garden City and several other areas were besieged by the hoodlums.

Lagosians were taken aback when on a television programme, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, denied knowledge of the reign of hoodlums across the state.

Immediately after the Saturday’s elections, the park chairman delivered the message on his Instagram account, referring to the supporters as “Obidiots” asking them if they have realised that Lagos belongs to the Yoruba people.

Akinsanya, a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) also said the so-called “Obidiots” should be bearing the brunt of the consequences of the term ‘Lagos is no man’s land.’

MC Oluomo wrote, “Hope the Obidiots believe now that Lagos belongs to Yoruba and they’re now facing the consequences of Lagos being no man’s land.”

The statement which has been heavily criticised is coming barely 24 hours after he refuted threatening the Igbo people in his previous video making rounds on social media.

He had earlier said those who did not intend to vote for his political party, APC, should not come out to vote on Saturday.

The post has sparked a lot of controversy and backlash on social media, with many people condemning MC Oluomo for making such contentious and provocative comments.

Some have called on the Lagos State Government to take action against him for promoting ethnic tensions and using derogatory terms to describe people from other ethnic groups.

However, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Idowu Owohunwa, said that an investigation has been launched into the initial video.

Nigerians at home and in Diaspora have called on authorities to do something about the menace of the park chairman.

Among many Nigerians who criticized the threats by MC Oluomo was Isaac Fayose, the younger brother to former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose.

On Friday, March 17, 2023,  he lambast Akinsanya, over his threats against the Igbos in Lagos.

Fayose described the transporter as an illiterate.

He was reacting after MC Oluomo warned the Igbos and non indigenes not to show up for the Saturday, March 18 elections if they are not voting for Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Recall that Oluomo issued the threats on Thursday, March 16, 2023, while addressing the supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at a meeting, he threatened Igbos who will not vote for the party to stay at home.
