CITIZENS COMPASS-– A commercial motorcyclist popularly known as Okada rider is currently battling with his life after a Lance Corporal of the Nigerian Army (NA) stabbed him.

The incident occurred in a bar of a lounge in the Itamaga area of Ikorodu, Lagos State, over the weekend.

The joint efforts of some law enforcement agents prevented a mob action on the soldier who stabbed the rider with a gun like Jack knife, in the upper left side of his stomach. 

Citizens Compass gathered that colleagues of the rider immediately gathered at the incident scene to rally round but this was almost hijacked by Are Boys.

Eyewitnesses’ accounts said a hot argument ensued between the soldier and the motorcyclist after which the later reached for the gun like Jack knife and stabbed the former.

The soldier has been arrested following the incident that occurred at about 2p.m.

It was learned that the Lance Corporal was later discovered to be attached to 159 Battalion, Yobe State

Policemen from the Ijede Division have reportedly visited the scene of the incident.

They were said to have rushed the victim to an undisclosed hospital. 

Spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hudenyin, said the motorcyclist was responding to treatment. 

”The suspect has been arrested and investigation is ongoing”. 

In a related development, patrol officers from Elere Division in Mushin area of Lagos have recovered some stolen goods said to be abandoned by some fleeing suspects in the area.

Hundeyin disclosed this on his X Handle on Sunday, April 14, 2024.

He said, “Patrol officers from Elere Division stopped a Volkswagen bus containing bags of flour and sugar at about 3:40am. Upon sighting the police, the occupants abandoned the vehicle and fled. Investigation revealed that the goods were stolen from a burgled shop in Iba. Goods have been handed over to the rightful owner. While the vehicle remains on our custody, efforts are on to apprehend the thieves.”
