CITIZENS COMPASS— Yoruba Youth Council (YYC) in Lagos State, on Thursday, lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing a 39-year-old Professor, Segun Aina, as the Registrar for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The group congratulated Professor Aina for making Yoruba youths proud.
YYC secretary, Lagos State, Omoluabi Efunkomaya Emmanuel Adebayo, applauded the President in a statement which reads:
Under the leadership of the Chairman, Omoluabi Barr. Deji Folorunso Esq, the Yoruba Youth Council, Lagos State heartily congratulates President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the visionary appointment of Professor Segun Aina as the Registrar of JAMB.
This noble appointment is a clear testament to the President’s unwavering commitment towards youth inclusion, competence, excellence, and national development. At 39 years of age, Segun Aina represents the new face of progressive leadership, intellectual capacity, and administrative brilliance needed to reposition our educational sector for greatness.
As proud Yoruba youths, we celebrate this remarkable milestone and commend President Tinubu for continuously identifying capable and vibrant young minds to serve the nation diligently. This appointment further strengthens the confidence of Nigerian youths in the Renewed Hope Agenda of the present administration.
The Yoruba race has always been known for integrity, wisdom, education, and visionary leadership. The emergence of Segun Aina into this prestigious office reflects the enduring Omoluabi values deeply rooted in our culture and tradition.

Professor Aina, who will be 40 in July, is a distinguished academic and systems expert with extensive experience in national examination systems, digital infrastructure, and public-sector institutional reform.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Kent, an MSc in Internet Computing and Network Security, and a PhD in Digital Signal Processing, both from Loughborough University, United Kingdom. He has also completed the Senior Management Programme at Lagos Business School.
A Professor of Computer Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Aina began his career with JAMB during his National Youth Service, gaining foundational experience in national admissions and data-driven institutional processes. These insights have shaped his ongoing contributions to examination reform and systems optimisation.
With over 15 years of post-graduation experience, Professor Aina operates at the intersection of technology, policy, and institutional transformation, advising federal and state governments on system design, digital transition, and operational reform.
