CITIZENS COMPASS— As part of sustained efforts to promote road safety consciousness and reduce road traffic crashes, the Road Safety Officers’ Wives Association (ROSOWA), Ogun State Chapter, conducted a road safety sensitization programme at Kuto Motor Park, Abeokuta, on Saturday , 20 June 2026.

The programme was led by the Chairperson of ROSOWA, Ogun State Chapter, Lady Morenikeji Ogunjobi, wife of the Sector Commander, FRSC Ogun State Sector Command, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi.

Addressing motorists, commercial drivers, passengers, and other road users during the exercise, Lady Ogunjobi emphasized the importance of compliance with traffic regulations and responsible road use.

She noted that many road traffic crashes are preventable when road users adhere strictly to established safety standards.

The sensitization focused on key road safety concerns, including speeding, dangerous driving, overloading, use of mobile phones while driving, driving under the influence of alcohol, and the importance of seat belt use. Participants were also enlightened on the need for regular vehicle maintenance and strict observance of traffic signs and regulations.

Members of ROSOWA engaged participants through interactive discussions and public enlightenment sessions aimed at enhancing awareness and encouraging safer road use practices. Road users were urged to cultivate patience, discipline, tolerance, and courtesy while using the roads.

Speaking during the programme, Lady Ogunjobi reiterated the commitment of ROSOWA to supporting the Federal Road Safety Corps in its public enlightenment campaigns and advocacy programmes geared towards saving lives and preventing road crashes.

Participants commended the initiative and expressed appreciation to the Corps and ROSOWA for bringing the safety campaign directly to the motoring public. They pledged to comply with traffic regulations and to serve as ambassadors of road safety within their communities.

The sensitization exercise was successfully conducted without any incident and formed part of ongoing efforts by the FRSC Ogun State Sector Command to strengthen public awareness and foster a safer motoring environment across the state.

The Federal Road Safety Corps therefore calls on all road users to remain law-abiding, safety-conscious, and committed to making the roads safer for everyone.
