
AIG Zone 2 assures adequate security at Easter
CITIZENS COMPASS– The Assistant Inspector General of Police in-charge of Zone 2 Command Headquarters , AIG Adegoke M. Fayoade, on Good Friday, charged the Commissioners of Police in-charge of Lagos and Ogun States to ensure watertight security and deployment of Tactical Units around the Zone.
Areas of interest were; Sagamu Interchange, OPIC Long-Bridge, Badagry Expressway, worship centers, shopping malls, tourist centers, market places, commercial centers, social gatherings and residential areas.
Others were; highways, motor parks and garages, relaxation centers, train stations and bus terminals, critical national assets as well as government and private-owned properties within their areas of jurisdictions.
Earlier in the day, the AIG visited Ojota Park and Agege area of Lagos where he enjoined the youths to be law abiding, maintain peace and order before moving to Sango Area Command and Shagamu Interchange in Ogun State to ensure compliance with the security directives.
The AIG, while extending greetings to all Christian faithful, urged the public to go about their celebrations without fear of violence and harassment.
Also, he solicited effective collaboration from members of the public.
