Church reportedly cancels wedding over absence of bride’s father
CITIZENS COMPASS—A church has reportedly cancelled a wedding due to the absence of the bride’s father.
The Nigerian bride took to TikTok to share her experience.
She said the wedding was cancelled despite the fact that her father’s representative was in attendance.
The woman with the TikTok handle, bekee332, explained that after all preparations were made, the pastor began the ceremony but requested the presence of her father.
She informed him that her father could not attend but had sent someone to represent him.
However, the pastor refused to proceed, insisting that her father must be physically present for the wedding to continue. As a result, the ceremony was cancelled.
Recalling what the church said, the bride-to-be stated, “The church said no, that my father has to come, that he has to be present himself.”
Her video quickly gained attention online, prompting many users to flood the comment section with their reactions and opinions.
