FRSC, TRACE speak on reported crushing of security guard along Ogijo-Sagamu Road
CITIZENS COMPASS— The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), yesterday, dismissed as baseless a misleading online report that a truck rammed into a residential building killing a security guard along Ogijo-Sagamu Road, Ogun State.
Spokesperson of the Ogun State Sector Command of FRSC, Afolabi Odunsi and his TRACE counterpart, Babatunde Akinbiyi dismissed the report in separate chats with Citizens Compass.
The spokespersons said the reported accident could not be confirmed as their men on the field particularly in the axis did not report such.
The social media was awash on Friday, that a truck rammed into a residential building killing a security guard in the process.
An X user, @lifeissues_1, had shared the report on his handle and was later shared by some social media users.

A cement truck, reportedly belonging to Dangote Cement, rammed into a residential building in Ogun State (specifically referenced in Imasayi/Yewa North, rather than Ogijo, in recent similar incidents), resulting in a security guard’s death while on duty. The truck veered off the road and hit the building.
The accident occurred today 10, April, 2026 at a residential property in the Ogijo axis, an area along the Sagamu-Ikorodu Highway and a security guard who was stationed at the building at the time of the impact was killed instantly.
While official reports from the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) are often attributed to brake failure or excessive speed in similar local incidents, the specific mechanical cause for this crash is under investigation.
The heavy-duty cement truck veered off the road and plowed into the structure, causing significant damage to the building.
