
CITIZENS COMPASS—Popular actress, Funke Akindele, is expected to give a career talk as Igbogbo Kingdom in Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA), Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, will in November 2025, hold its 2025 Igbogbo Day celebration.
The 37th of its kind with the theme, “Itanna Ogo (The Shining Glory), will be held between November 20 and 2025 with alot of activities.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, at the palace of Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo kingdom, the Chairman of 2025 Igbogbo Day Planning Committee, Alhaji Sheriff Jinadu, said the event will kick of with an early morning programme, Iwure, at the Adeboruwa palace at 7a.m.
On Friday, November 21, there will be Jumat Service at Igbogbo Central Mosque at 1.p.m followed by Public Service Day.
Also, 100 persons will benefit from free hair cut service by Igbogbo barbers and visitation to the orphanage.
On Saturday, November 22, there will be a carnival at Eleja Primary School at 9a.m.
The event continues on Sunday with a “Luncheon with Adeboruwa” at Mikkson Obas Event Centre followed by presentation of awards.
There will be a health awareness programme at the Adeboruwa palace on Monday, November 23.
Other line up of activities include Adeboruwa Football Competition, Cultural Day, quiz and debate competition, Community Development Day and Transporters’ Day among others.
Alhaji Jinadu said that the proceeds from the event would be channelled to education development in the community.
The press conference featured unveiling of Ankara fabrics for the Igbogbo Day celebrations.
The unveiling was conducted by the High Chief Tajudeen Onasanya, the Odofin of Igbogbo Kingdom who represented the monarch.
In attendance were prominent sons and daughters of Igbogbo Kingdom.
