
Government closes another bridge in Lagos
CITIZENS COMPASS– Effective Sunday, May 18, 2025, the Ijora-Marine Bridge will be under closure for repair works.
The Federal Government of Nigeria through its Ministry of Works, yesterday, announced the closure in a statement signed by the Federal Controller of Works, Lagos, Mrs Olukorede Kesha.
Mrs Kesha said the closure would be full at some sections of the bridge and partial at other sections.
She added that the critical project aims to improve road safety and enhance the driving experience of motorists as this will ensure a smoother, safer road.
Keeha added that traffic diversion had been carefully arranged, and traffic officials would be on ground to guide motorists and ensure smooth flow of traffic.
She also appealed to residents, commuters and business owners in the area to plan their movements ahead and ensure cooperation during the period.
