Government shuts 47 unity schools over insecurity
CITIZENS COMPASS— The Federal Government of Nigeria on Friday, ordered the immediate closure of 47 of its Unity Colleges.
The government disclosed this in a circular which attributed the closure to, *recent security challenges in some parts of the country and the need to prevent any security breaches.”
According to the circular, signed by Binta Abdulkadir, director of senior secondary education, the closure was approved by Tunji Alausa, the minister of education.
He directed the school principals to ensure full compliance with the order.
