CITIZENS COMPASS— A Gospel singer, Akinola Ayoola Michael popularly known as Alayo Melody Singer, on Thursday, recounted the last moment of his colleague, Bunmi Akinnaanu popularly known as Omije-Ojumi.
Akinnaanu was said to have died on Monday, January 12, 2026, as announced by her family.
She met her untimely death after battling with an incurable wound on her leg.
The death of the Gospel singer was announced on Tuesday night.
Alayo took to his social media handles to lament the last moment of his colleague sharing an emotional moment of why Akinnaanu could not meet up with a trip to India for a surgery.
The Juju singer recounted how two popular prophets, Sam Ojo and Taiwo Ojo both based in Ibadan, Oyo State, were there for Akinnaanu during her last days.
He recounted how the clerics booked for a visa, tickets and made necessary arrangements for Akinnaanu to be flown to India for a surgery. Unfortunately her health condition deteriorated and doctors said she was too weak to be flown abroad.
Alayo who spoke in Yoruba Language said: ‘I appreciate everyone who stood by Omije Ojumi when she was sick. Prophet Sam Ojo and Prophet Taiwo Ojo really did a lot. There was a time we decided to fly her out to India and these two prophets decided to foot the bill of the visa processing and medical treatment. The application was done thrice before it was approved.
By the time the visa was approved, Omije was so weak that the doctors said she was not fit to fly.
I want to appeal to prophets to stop going on the social media and telling their followers that they saw death visions about our celebrities. If you see any bad vision about anyone, please contact them privately. Everybody will dle one day. May God bless us with long life. We shall communicate the burial arrangements for Omije soon’
