CITIZENS COMPASS— Police in Lagos on Monday, foiled a planned protest against the ongoing demolition of property in the Oworonshoki area of the State.
This was in response to a public notice circulating on social media about the planned protest on the Third Mainland Bridge.
It reads, Notice! Notice!! Notice!!!
“Please for those that have planned to work tomorrow morning (Monday 27th October, 2025) be informed that you should plan your route inward island and inward mainland because Oworonshoki youths are planning to lockdown the THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE in respect to the protest against the Demolition going on In Oworonshoki community. Please be guided.”
The notice was said to have emanated from Oworonshoki youths.
Reports indicated that Oworonshoki residents have postponed the parents over fear of possible arrest by the Police.
The protest was meant to draw attention to the demolition of buildings near the bridge, which residents say has rendered thousands of families homeless.
Meanwhile, Lagos State Police Command has assured residents of security over the planned protest.
The Command disclosed this in a statement by its spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi.
“The Lagos State Police Command is aware of information circulating regarding a planned disruption on the Third Mainland Bridge by some youths in the Oworonshoki area.
