Police nab suspect with human parts along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway
CITIZENS COMPASS— Operatives of the Federal Highway Patrol on the Oyo State axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Sunday, said they have arrested a driver whose vehicle was found to be in possession of human parts.
The driver, Kazeem Ayegbo, was said to be under investigation.
According to the operatives, the human parts consisting of bones and other items were wrapped in a red cloth and concealed in passengers’ luggages.
Spokesperson, Oyo State Police Command, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, disclosed this in a statement which stated that the driver travelling from Lagos to Osogbo, was apprehended during a routine stop-and-search operation along the axis.
It reads, “Operatives of the Federal Highway Patrol intercepted a commercial vehicle during a routine stop-and-search operation along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway near Guru Maharaji Village.
“A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of a red cloth containing bones and other items suspected to be parts of a human corpse, concealed among the luggage.
“The driver, Kazeem Ayegbo (male), travelling from Lagos to Osogbo, was apprehended. Investigation has commenced to determine the origin and intended purpose of the recovered items, with investigative efforts extended beyond Oyo State to identify and apprehend all persons connected with the incident.”
He said the suspect would be charged to court when the investigation is concluded.
