Popular monarch in Lagos joins his ancestors 

 

CITIZENS COMPASS– The Olu-Epe of Epe Kingdom in Lagos State, Oba Shefiu Ọlatunji Adewale Eshilokun I, on Saturday, joined his ancestors.

He was 86 years old.

The monarch, who ascended the throne of his forefathers in 2009.

The retired public servant also served as a commissioner in the civil service commission.

At press time, the palace of Epe was yet to release an official statement but it was gathered that the monarch would be buried on Saturday, according to Islamic rites.

The late monarch, known for his dedication to the development of the Epe Kingdom, earned respect for his wisdom, leadership, and public service.

Oba Adewale was also a staunch advocate of peace and consistently emphasised the importance of unity among the Yoruba natives in Epe.
