YIF Director of Communications and Strategies, Sanjo Olawuyi, disclosed this in a statement on behalf of the President of the Foundation, Dr Olumide Aderibole.
“The President of Yoruba Indigenes Foundation (YIF), Dr Olumide Aderibole, rejoices with Oba Sen. Rsshidi Adewolu Ladoja, Governor Seyi Makinde, and all Ibadan indigenes in Nigeria and the Diaspora, on the historic coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadan land.
“Today is not only special for the Ibadan Indigenes, it is equally important for the Yoruba Indigenes Foundation (YIF), and Yoruba land in general, because Ibadan land is indisputably the melting point of Yoruba politics, trade and commerce.
“Oba Rsshidi Ladoja is an Oba that passed through 5 out of the six avenues to leadership (democracy, age, inheritance, work of hands and public spirited responsibilities).
“Today is historic and a pivot moment in the annals of Ibadan land, not only because a seating civilian governor, Seyi Makinde, is coronating a former civilian governor of the same Oyo state, but because it marks the beginning of a reign of a modern day Olubadan.
“YIF is optimistic that Oba Rsshidi Ladoja will make good use of his engineering background to transform Ibadan city into a smart city. By promoting: urban renewal projects, infrastructural development and re-engineering. Which are anticipated to cut across: housing, sanitation, roads and the renovation of all the historic sites in the ancient city of Ibadan.
“There is no thought that Oba Rsshidi Ladoja will use his wealth of experience in business to attract an array of investments to Ibadan land, and to take the informal businesses in Ibadan to the next level.
“For the past Three decades, the political idiolect of Sen. Rsshidi Ladoja, resonated and vibrated the political landscape of Oyo state, both in the Senatorial and the Gubernatorial constituencies. “This is a quality that may ginger the Kabiyesi to be a good advocate for the everyday people in Ibadan land and Oyo state at large.
In conclusion, YIF is sure that the reign of Oba Rsshidi Ladoja will bring about massive youth development, foster unity and tranquility in Ibadan land.
