CITIZENS COMPASS— A student of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), Shafiu Auwal Ibrahim, who was declared missing four years ago, has been found alive in Kaduna State.
Ibrahim’s disappearance was described as mysterious while his discovery was widely celebrated across social media.
The undergraduate was declared missing in 2021.
Shafiu, a resident of the Janbulo area of Kano, reportedly went missing under unclear circumstances, leaving his loved ones in deep distress. For years, his family and the university community made frantic efforts to trace his whereabouts, but all hopes seemed lost until now.
According to family sources, Shafiu was discovered in a remote village in Kaduna, where he had been living with an Islamic cleric. The cleric was said to have taken him in years ago after finding him in a mentally unstable state.
Sources close to the family added that Shafiu is currently in sound health and stable condition, marking an emotional end to a four-year-long search.
