Man dies as car suffers brake failure in Lagos

 

CITIZENS COMPASS— A male occupant of a Nissan car on Monday,reportedly died in an autocrash when the car suffered brake failure around Maroko in Lagos.

The accident occurred at Chief Yesufu Abiodun Street, Oniru, Sandfill Bus Stop.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) which confirmed the accident said it received a distress call at about 2333hours.

The Permanent Secretary of the Agency, Oluwafemi Oke-Osanyintolu, in his updates said: Following distress alerts received on its 767/112 Toll Free Emergency Lines at 2333hours, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, activated the State’s Emergency Response Plans from its Lekki Base.

Upon arrival at the incident scene by 2346hours, a Nissan saloon car, registration number LND 738 FQ, was found to have been involved in a lone accident at the aforementioned location.

Further investigations attributed immediate cause of the incident to mechanical error (brake failure).

The incident occurred when the Nissan saloon car suffered mechanical error (brake failure) on top speed, causing it to somersault severally, and in the process crash into a street light.

Unfortunately, a yet-to-be identified adult male, driving the car, lost his life as a result of the incident.

– The remains have been bagged.

– The bagged commodity has been evacuated to Maroko Police Station and handed over for further processing.

– The incident scene and accident vehicle has been handed over to officials of the Nigerian Police Force, NPF from Maroko.

– Recovery Operation has been concluded.

– LASEMA Response Team-Lekki Base.

– LASEMA Pre-Hospital Care Unit.

– The Nigeria Police Force, NPF, from Maroko Police Station.
