Mike Adeyanju celebrates Ondo State at 50

CITIZENS COMPASS—A grassroot politician and Chairman of Imole Progressive Network (IPN) in Ondo North Senatorial District in Ondo State, Engr. Mike Adeyanju, has celebrated the State which clocks 50 years.

Adeyanju rolled out the drums in a recent statement which reads:

‎‎Fifty years is more than just a milestone; it is a testament to the enduring spirit of a people, the richness of a culture, and the unwavering pursuit of progress. As the “Sunshine State” marks its 50th anniversary, the air across our land is filled with a unique blend of nostalgia for our history and a burning hope for our future.

‎‎Today, Engr. Mike Adeyanju joins millions of citizens at home and in the diaspora to celebrate the golden jubilee of Ondo State. It is a moment to reflect on how far we have come since our creation in 1976 and to look forward with confidence toward the glorious destination that awaits us.

‎The beauty of Ondo State lies in its diversity. As we celebrate, the joy is palpable in every corner of our geography.

‎‎In the rugged, beautiful hills of Akoko, there is a song of victory. Through the ancient kingdoms of Owo and Ose, the drums echo a story of heritage. In Akure, our bustling capital, the heart of administration beats with new vigor. From the heights of Idanre to the cultural bedrock of Ondo, and down to the industrious lands of Ikale, the celebration is a shared one. Even in the riverine reaches of Ilaje and Ese-Odo, where the water meets the sky, the people stand tall, proud of their contributions to the wealth and identity of this great state.

‎‎We are a state bound not just by borders, but by a shared intellectual legacy and a reputation for integrity and courage.

‎‎Leadership is a divine appointment. At this critical juncture of our history—at the “appointed time of God”—He has sent us a leader equipped for the moment: His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

‎‎In Governor Aiyedatiwa, we see a man sent to lead Ondo State into its most glorious state yet. His leadership comes at a time when we need steady hands, a compassionate heart, and a clear vision to navigate the complexities of modern governance. Under his watch, we are seeing a renewed commitment to infrastructure, human capital development, and the peace that is necessary for any society to thrive.

‎‎As we celebrate this half-century of existence, we do so with a prayer on our lips: We shall continue to grow higher.

‎‎The foundation laid by our founding fathers remains strong, but the building continues. We envision an Ondo State that is the industrial hub of the Southwest, a state where our youths are empowered by technology, where our farmers find wealth in their soil, and where every citizen feels the impact of good governance in their daily lives.

‎‎This 50th anniversary is not just the end of a chapter, but the beginning of a new, more vibrant volume. Let us remain united, supporting the vision of this administration as we march toward a “glorious state.”
