CITIZENS COMPASS— Ogun State Police Command on Thursday, said it has arrested a man, Gafaru Rasaki who was in possession of four human heads as at the time of his arrest in Sagamu area.
Giving the details of the arrest, the Command said it was carried out by its Shakura Division on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
Spokesperson for the Command, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the suspect has been charged to court.
According to her: On the 21st of January, 2026, operatives of the Shakura Division arrested one Gafaru Rasaki in possession of four human heads. Upon interrogation and thorough investigation, it was revealed that the suspect unlawfully exhumed the human remains from a cemetery, an act amounting to disregard for corpses and a serious violation of the law.
The recovered exhibits were secured and the suspect was promptly charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
In a related development, the Command said it has arrested eight members of a robbery syndicate and recovered 900 bags of cement in connection with an ongoing investigation.
The spokesperson in a statement said:The Ogun State Police Command has arrested eight suspected members of an armed robbery syndicate responsible for violent attacks and the hijacking of trailer trucks along the Papalanto–Ilaro and Owode–Idiroko axis of the state, and recovered a hijacked trailer truck, nine hundred (900) bags of cement, and a locally made single-barrel pistol in a coordinated intelligence-driven operation.
The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, directed operatives of the Anti-Robbery Squad, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, to deploy intelligence assets, intensify surveillance, and discreetly track and dismantle the criminal network through targeted intelligence-led operations.
Through sustained intelligence gathering, covert surveillance, and crime pattern analysis, detectives successfully identified and penetrated the syndicate. This operation culminated in the arrest of eight key members of the gang. The suspects arrested include: Mogaji Sodiq (M) a.k.a. “Ogbonṣ”, Adebowale Lekan (M), Ajah Peter (M), Ganiyu Razaq (M), Odeleye Ayoola (M), Egboja Amos (M), Bello Akeem (M), and Olaifa Sunday (M). The suspects were apprehended at different locations across the state based on actionable intelligence.
The suspects were intercepted after conveying the trailer truck, with most of the stolen cement having been taken to a warehouse, which was tracked and recovered first by operatives. Subsequent operations led to the recovery of their locally made single-barrel pistol. It was further established during investigations that the syndicate had carried out previous criminal operations, with ongoing inquiries unveiling a pattern of organised theft targeting commercial supply chains. Intelligence is currently being exploited to track, locate, and apprehend other fleeing members, while further investigations continue to dismantle their wider criminal network and identify accomplices and logistics channels. The suspects will be charged to court accordingly upon the conclusion of investigations.

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two additional suspects in connection with an ongoing investigation into a case of criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, and hijacking of a cement trailer.
The suspects, John Seun (male, 24 years), alias “Dagrin,” and Olanipekun Ezekiel (male, 35 years), alias “Sharply,” were arrested for their active involvement in the criminal syndicate. Investigations revealed that the suspects participated in a gang operation during which a trailer conveying 900 bags of cement was hijacked, the driver was restrained, and the consignment was diverted to the syndicate’s buyer.
Further investigation disclosed that the suspects confessed to having committed murder during previous criminal operations of the syndicate. Investigations are still in top gear to arrest other fleeing members of the gang.
