
Yourubas in Europe host YIF President, Aderibole
CITIZENS COMPASS—The Yorubas in Europe have hosted the President, Yoruba Indigenes Foundation(YIF), Dr Olumide Aderibole Phillip.
The meeting was held yesterday, in Barcelona, Spain ahead of the Yoruba Indigeneous World Day 2026.
Aderibole who led a Yoruba delegation to the 2025 United Nations’ International Conference between Monday, June 30 to Wednesday, July 3, 2025 seized the opportunity to meet with the Yoruba representatives in Europe.
The 4th International Conference waa on Financing for Development.
The conference addressed new and emerging issues, and the urgent need to fully implement the Sustainable Development Goals, and support reform of the international financial architecture.
Aderibole’s visit to Barcelona was held at Sagrada Familia, where Mrs Debora Ekundayo, President, Yorubas in Europe and Mr Adeniyi Akinfenwa, President, Yorubas in Spain expressed delight at the visit.
Speaking with Citizens Compass shortly after the meeting, Aderibole said it was geared towards the 2026 Yoruba Indigenous World Day.
He said, “This is another opportunity for us to gather ourselves for a purpose.
“The Yoruba Indigeneous World Day slated for Barcelona 2026 will bring together all Yoruba sons and daughters from across Europe. It will attract all our Yoruba leaders both political and otherwise.
“The programne will be unique in the sense that our Europe-based people will showcase their God-given talents to the world.”
