CITIZENS COMPASS—The United Stares of America(USA) immigration authorities have reportedly detained a woman for deportation to her county.
The operation was captured in a video circulating on social media.
The video captured the moment which sparked a serious debate among social media influencers.
In the footage, the woman, later identified as Luz del Carmen Herrera, was seen being handcuffed and escorted by U.S. immigration officers while her husband, Eduardo Duarte, pleaded desperately with officials. Visibly distressed, Eduardo cried out to onlookers, saying, “She’s the mother… Six girls. They’re waiting at home.” As officers proceeded with the detention, the woman remained calm while Eduardo continued to shout in disbelief, “Why are you taking her? They dismissed her case.”
The video appeared to have been taken shortly after Herrera’s immigration case was denied, prompting immediate deportation action by authorities. Onlookers tried to intervene or inquire about the situation, but officers reportedly warned that many others were awaiting similar fates. “Don’t come,” Eduardo said. “They’re waiting to take everyone.”
While the visual and audio distress of the family was heartbreaking for many viewers, reactions online reflected a sharply divided public sentiment.

If the love was serious, he would have gotten her legal documents. – @billi4eva

Some were confused about immigration policies:
Does marriage not give you an automatic visa? – @xyismale
I thought marriage saved immigrants from this. – @iVez100
A few drew comparisons to broader political decisions:

While some comments veered off-topic or questioned why Nigerians were engaging in the discourse, others used the video to critique the wider immigration system and emphasize the emotional cost of enforcement policies.
